- Wireless telephone for speedy restoration of damaged facilities Small fishing boats especially will be urged to carry wireless receivers.
e) Those organizations covered by Article 55 of the Telecommunication Services Law for whom maintenance of communications is vital, will all be informed of that fact and urged to register in order to receive vital communications treatment.
(4) Drills in transmission of the Tidal Wave Warning and other information
In each area, organizations concerned stage a joint drill in transmission of the Tidal Wave Warning and other information in order to avoid unfamiliarity with the communication facilities, and to prevent error or omission in the transmission. The drill shall be carried out as a practical exercise, including transmission of the warning through the broadcasting stations.
(5) Education regarding the Tidal Wave Warning
Through prefectural or municipal government PR in normal time, and in the "Disaster Prevention Week", the government promotes understanding of the Tidal Wave Warning, based on the principle, "When a strong earthquake occurs, people on the seashore must leave the shore and take refuge in a safe area. Ships must shelter outside the harbour".
